your tech product doesn't matter?
What really matters?
After 2 years of being actively involved, going to events, conferences and consuming unhealthy amounts of contents about startups solutions and trying out many things ourselves.
IT DOESN'T MATTER.
Hours long discussions, late night meetings, being motivated, working towards solving a unique problem and trying make it make sense, takes you only so far.
At an age where "failure is just an experience you could leverage later." The bracket of FAFO is open and you have nothing to loose! Except for your time.
Everyone understands that Plan B is still there and taking chances gives the best possible heuristic path to take.
IT DOESN'T MATTER.
Even if the plan is solid and you have the best way to implement, the cutting edge tech stack.
IT DOESN'T MATTER.
WHAT MATTERS IS NOT THE MARKET OPPORTUNITY OR DEMAND.
IT'S MARKET NEED AND MARKET TRANSITION!!
The hardest part is:
"The stakeholders doesn't care."
You cannot defy the old ways the market have trusted and adopted, and make them transition into a new way of operation with just a meetup or as we are taught through A BUSINESS PITCH or A BMC.
Its a cope, not the answer.
The biggest hurdle is to have that transition for the stakeholder and making them believe it's worth it.
And this is where your tech "STARTUP" doesn't matter anymore.
YOUR TECH "STARTUP"!!
No need to code anymore.
Being behind screen and development goals doesn't matter.
The app will eventually get better iteratively.
What matters is having a team.
YOU HAVE TO HAVE A TEAM!!
People that can make it happen on ground, THEY MATTER!!
Stakeholders involvement is important.
Brand and trust is important.
Marketing is important.
Because the hardest part is not building the technology.
The hardest part is making the market transition.
And when it comes to Nepal, there is another major hurdle.
THE BUSINESS MODEL
Price on service is a kill switch for transition of market for startup in Nepal.
Business model should never be charge a fee for the service or a subscription in Nepal. It doesn't seems like a easy pill for Nepali people to swallow.
WE NEED TO WORK A WAY AROUND for the revenue.
Commodity and Marketplace is the only answer I see.
THE SAAS STARTUP
"The SAAS startup" in Nepal, if it can generate revenue through a FACEBOOK PAGE then its worth building.
Otherwise, they would stay fragmented and traditional ways prevails.
And maybe that's the real problem.
Not the technology.
Not the pitch.
Not the BMC.
Not the market opportunity.
The transition.
